Who is responsible

Sitecomb is a product of Sahbis Limited, a private company limited by shares, registered in Ireland under number 821013, registered office 77 Camden Street Lower, Dublin 2, D02 XE80.

On this website

This site sets no cookies. If you click Accept on our visit-count banner, we count your visit with Vercel Web Analytics, which is cookie-free and collects no personal data: it records the page, where you came from (such as a link on X), your country and device type, as anonymous totals. When you click Accept or Reject, we add one to an anonymous daily total of each; we keep no record of who clicked. If you click Reject, we don't count your visit. If you then use the free score or buy a report, we still note which link brought you (for example a post on X), as an anonymous total. You can change your choice any time with "Cookie choices" at the foot of every page. We remember your choice in your own browser only. Everything else we keep in your browser is listed on the Cookies and storage page.

Our hosting provider, Vercel, delivers this site. Like every host, it briefly processes your IP address and browser details to do that. We don't use them to identify you.

When you buy a report

We collect the website address you want checked, the business name if you give one, your email address, and the payment details our payment provider needs.

We use them to run the check, deliver the report, send your receipt, and answer you if something goes wrong. The legal basis is the contract you ask us to perform, and, for receipts and accounts, our legal duties.

The check itself reads only public pages of the website, the way a visitor does. It doesn't log in, fill in forms or collect anyone's personal data from the site.

We also count checkouts, paid orders and revenue by which link brought you, your browser's language and your country, as anonymous totals with no personal data, so we know which languages to offer next.

When you use Sitecomb in an AI assistant

We receive the website address you ask about. From ChatGPT we also get an anonymous user number that ChatGPT makes for us. We also see the network address the request comes from. We never receive your chats.

We use these only to run the check and keep free checks fair. Each person and each website gets a small daily limit. The limit counters hold a one-way scrambled code and the times of recent checks, never the number or address itself. A check stops counting after 24 hours. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in stopping misuse.

For 24 hours, a repeat question about the same website gets the answer we saved. That answer holds only the website address, its score and its top problems.

The assistant's own company handles your chat under its own privacy policy. Vercel and Fly.io run the check for us.

Who helps us

Stripe handles payments, fraud prevention and sales tax. Vercel hosts this website and, if you accept the banner, counts visits with Vercel Web Analytics. Cloudflare runs the records for our domain name. Fly.io runs the server that does the checks. Resend delivers the emails we send from the site, Sentry collects error reports from our site, and Google Workspace hosts our own email and inbox. Each only gets what it needs for its job. Sentry is run by Functional Software, Inc., and keeps our error reports in the EU (Germany). A report says what broke or ran slowly on a page. It never records your screen or what you type. We don't send it your email address or report links.

Sitecomb serves customers worldwide, so some of these providers process data in other countries, including the United States. Where data leaves the European Economic Area or the UK, it's protected by an adequacy decision or the standard contractual clauses approved for that purpose.

How long we keep it

Reports and the website address they cover: 12 months, so you can come back to your report, then deleted.

Your email address and order details: as long as needed for the report and support, then kept with our accounting records for 6 years, as Irish tax law requires.

Emails you send us: as long as needed to answer them, and no longer than 2 years.

Your email address on the Sitecomb Watch waiting list: until Sitecomb Watch opens or you ask us to remove it.

What we never do

We never sell your data. We never use your email for marketing unless you ask to hear from us, as you do when you join the Sitecomb Watch waiting list. We never publish a score unless its buyer asks us to.

The free score

When you use the free score, we check the website address you enter. We don't ask for your name or email just to give you the score. We keep anonymous daily counts of how many scores were shown, which link brought people (for example a post on X), and their browser's language and country, with no personal data. We also count, as anonymous totals, how often the paid-report offer on a result is shown and clicked. We delete these daily counts after 400 days. To stop misuse, each network address gets a small daily limit: we keep a scrambled form of your IP address (a one-way code, never the address itself) for 24 hours, then delete it.

Email me my score: only if you type your email and tick the box. We use your address once, to send you that one email. We don't keep it. We keep only a one-way scrambled counter, for a day or two, to stop abuse.

Share links: only if you click "Share my score". The link holds only the website, the score and the date. We don't publish it or keep a list of them. Anyone you send the link to can see those three things.

Help request: only if you tick the box. Your email, the website and the score go to our agency partner, Sahbis Limited, the same company that runs Sitecomb. They can fix and host the site, and may email you once about fixing it. We don't pass your details to anyone else, and this is the only way Sitecomb ever passes anyone to Sahbis.

The Sitecomb Watch waiting list

Sitecomb Watch, a weekly check with a private dashboard, isn't open yet. If you ask to join the waiting list, we keep your email address, the time you joined and which page you joined from, and the fact that you ticked the box asking us to email you.

We use them for one thing: to email you once when Sitecomb Watch opens. The legal basis is your consent. We keep them until Sitecomb Watch opens or you ask us to take you off the list, whichever comes first. To be removed, write to hello@sitecomb.com and we'll delete your address. Joining the list costs nothing and takes no payment.

Our own weekly dashboards, for our own websites, hold no personal data.

Public check pages

A public page exists only if a buyer publishes a check that scored 80 or more. It holds only the website address, the check date, the scores and the engine version: no personal data. Badges set no cookies and send nothing back to us about who sees them. Like any page, our host still processes each request to deliver it. A page stays up until the buyer takes it down, or the website's owner asks us to.

Your rights, wherever you live

Everyone gets the same rights from us: ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct or delete it, object to how we use it, ask us to limit it, or ask for your data in a form you can take to someone else. Where we rely on your consent (the Sitecomb Watch list, visit counts), you can withdraw it at any time, and that doesn't affect what we did before. Write to hello@sitecomb.com and we'll answer within one month.

Those rights come from the EU and UK GDPR, and we give them to customers everywhere, including under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act and US state privacy laws where they apply.

You can also complain to a regulator: in Ireland the Data Protection Commission (dataprotection.ie), in the UK the ICO, in India the Data Protection Board, or the authority where you live.

Changes

When this page changes, we update the version line at the top. Big changes are announced on the home page first.
